If you have been searching for a reliable electrical contractor in South Western Ontario, then you have to contact Site Plus Electrical for transformer electrician services. We are very much experience in the field of servicing, replacing, and installing transformers of all sizes.
High voltage electrical transformers are the devices that are used to transfer electrical energy from one part of a circuit to another. They are mostly used in power transmission, but also in other systems such as medical equipment.
One of the most crucial elements in an electrical transformer is the core, which is made up of iron laminations. It is an iron core that is responsible for transferring the magnetic field between the windings of the device. The core is usually made by stamping or die-casting multiple laminations into a single piece.
The shape of the transformer’s windings determines how much voltage can be transferred between them. High voltage transformers can have several thousand volts on the secondary side, so they are very dangerous to work on if you are not properly trained and insured.
Transformers are used in all the three types of electric circuits.
In a power system, voltage transformation is done inside high-voltage transmission lines and substation transformers.
In a building, low voltage power for lighting and small appliances is transformed to higher voltage inside step down transformers.
In an electronic circuit, the output of the power supply is converted back to lower voltage by voltage regulator integrated circuit (IC).
Power supplies use different kinds of transformer depending on their purpose. A transformer designed to provide alternating current (AC) will be different than one designed to provide direct current (DC). A transformer designed to be portable will be different than one designed to be stationary. A transformer designed to work with low voltage will be different than one designed to work with high voltage.
The need for different kinds of transformers shows that they are not just the same thing with different sizes. The function of a transformer depends on its shape and construction. No matter the size or functionality Site Plus Electrical Solutions has not only experience but a high performing team of Licensed Technician’s who know our way around Transformers.
